Schaedler Yesco Distribution (SYD), an 80-year old company, has just purchased a 150,000 sq. ft. building on Paxton Street in Swatara Township across from the Harrisburg Mall. SYD is the largest independent electrical distributor in Central PA and is among the top 100 in volume in the country. They have been located on South 13th Street in Harrisburg since 1952.
“We have experienced explosive growth in the last 4 years, and out current headquarters and central distribution center, which is located in 2 different buildings, can no longer serve our needs,” said Matt Brnik, President of SYD. “We looked at renovating our existing facility or moving out of town to an industrial park, but settled on the Paxton Street property due to its close proximity to our current location” Brnik said.
Extensive renovations will be made to the new property to include an exterior face-lift; expanded customer counter and completely renovated corporate office space. SYD has additional locations in York, Lancaster, Williamsport, State College and Chambersburg.
